SSB Interview


This blog is just the Overview of the whole SSB procedure.

Every year, a number of candidates apply for the Defense Services (Army / Navy / Air Force). There are quite a number of ways, through which, an individual can apply to any of the three wings :
Some of them are:


  • NDA – AFTER 10+2(Through UPSC)


  • NON-TECH (Both men & women)
  • TECH (Both men & women)
  • NCC SPECIAL ENTRY (Both men & women)
  • LAW GRADUATES(Both men & women)

SSB: The full form of the word ” SSB ” is SERVICE SELECTION BOARD. Everytime thousands of candidates appear in the SSB Interviews, but only few are selected across the Nation. SSB itself consists of a series of Tests. It is a 5 day long process.

DAY 1:

Day 1 is the reporting day. On this day, groups/batches are created and Chest Number are alloted.
There is a chance that Screening Test and Result (of Screening Test) will be declared on the same day till evening, those candidates who are be selected, will be given rooms for their further stay, and the rest of the candidates are headed back to the home.

Day 2:

  • Intelligence Test
  • Thematic Appreception Test
  • Word Association Test
  • Situation Reaction Test
  • Self Description

Day 3:

  • Group Discussion
  • Group Planning Exercise
  • Progressive Group Task
  • Half Group Task
  • Individual Obstacles

Day 4:

  • Lecturette
  • Command Task
  • Final Group Task

Day 5:

  • Announcement of Results

NOTE: Interview will be held from Day 2 to Day 4
